COUNSELLING SESSION

The UK application journey begins with understanding what you want to study and why. During this stage, students reflect on their subject interests and career goals, academic strengths, and budget.

PROFILE BUILDING

UK universities prioritize academic rigor and subject relevance. Profile building is all about improving grades, choosing relevant extracurriculars, doing subject-linked online courses, research projects, Olympiads, or internships.

UNIVERSITY AND COURSE SELECTION

Students shortlist universities based on entry requirements, subject rankings, employability outcomes, tuition fees, location, and acceptance rates. The main portals used for this step are UCAS course search, university websites, and Discover Uni (the UK government portal).

Common Questions

Get answers to the most frequently asked questions about studying abroad

What are the types of undergraduate degrees?

In addition to the standard 3-year undergraduate course, students can split their time equally between two courses and then undertake a joint or dual honours undergraduate degree.

Are there any undergraduate degrees that last for only 2 years?

Absolutely. Fast-track 2-year degrees let students complete their undergraduate courses and find jobs much more quickly. Other short undergraduate degrees include

  1. Certificate of Higher Education (certHE): Lasts for one year, full-time, and two years, part-time
  2. Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE): A 2-year full-time degree course.

How much does it cost to study an undergraduate degree in the UK?

Tuition fees range from 11,400 to 38,000 pounds per year; the average cost is approximately 22,200 pounds per year. Generally, undergraduate programs take three years in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, but this may be extended to four years in Scotland.

What documents do I need to apply for UG?

Documents required to apply for UG will include academic transcripts, a personal statement, a teacher/ employer reference, proof of English language proficiency, and a copy of your passport.

What if I don't meet the entry requirements?

Don't worry, this is because you can be considered for a Foundation Year pathway programme. This is a one-year preparatory course designed to build the necessary subject knowledge and academic skills for direct entry into a full degree programme the following year.

What if I want to change courses? Is that even possible?

Almost all universities allow switching within the same department, but a change to a completely new course is very hard. That's why many students first do their homework on which course is best in the UK for a master's before making a decision.

Are there any scholarships or financial aid available?

There are a lot of scholarships, starting from university-specific awards and finishing with government-funded programs like the Chevening Scholarship. Scholarships can help cover some of the tuition and living expenses.
