Study in Switzerland
Home to ETH Zurich and EPFL, two of the world's top 15 universities, with trilingual research excellence.
Why Switzerland?
Switzerland hosts two of the world's consistently top-15 ranked universities — ETH Zurich and EPFL — as well as leading business schools including IMD and the University of St. Gallen. Public university tuition fees are among the lowest in Europe, while the cost of living is among the highest. Switzerland's research ecosystem in engineering, life sciences, finance, and hospitality management is globally pre-eminent.
Cost of living
CHF 2,200–4,000/month; Switzerland has one of Europe's highest costs of living.
Post-study work pathway
After degree completion, international graduates may apply for a 6-month job seeker permit to search for skilled employment in Switzerland. Swiss work permits for non-EU nationals are competitive, with priority given to EU/EFTA citizens.
Admissions
A strong bachelor's degree (first-class or equivalent for ETH/EPFL), IELTS 7.0 or GRE for many engineering programs. ETH Zurich and EPFL are highly selective; business schools vary by program.
Scholarships
ETH Zurich and EPFL offer Excellence Fellowships for outstanding international master's candidates. The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships support postdoctoral researchers and artists from many countries including India.
