LOR writing service for students in India

Most Indian professors write one paragraph and call it done. We give them a briefing document and a draft that actually helps your application.

Why Indian LORs tend to be weak

Indian professors write hundreds of these letters. Most follow the same template: two or three sentences about attendance, a line about being a sincere student, and a vague wish of success. That letter is not useful for a UK or Canadian admissions committee. They are looking for a specific anecdote, a comparison along the lines of 'she is among the top 5% of students I have taught', and subject-matter detail that proves the recommender actually knows your work. Most professors are willing to write something better, they just do not know what is expected. We prepare a briefing document for each of your recommenders, explaining what the programme is looking for, what to reference from your time with them, and what a strong LOR looks like. Then we draft a starting point they can revise and sign. The service is fully online. We also have an office in Noida for students who prefer to meet in person.

Types of LOR

Different programmes require different recommender profiles.

Academic LOR
From: Professor or thesis supervisor
Best for: All programmes, especially PhD and research-focused Masters
Should reference specific coursework, project quality, or thesis work. Not just grade commentary.
Professional LOR
From: Direct manager or senior colleague
Best for: MBA, part-time Masters, work-experience-required programmes
Should describe outcomes, responsibilities, and growth. Not just job title and duration.
Counsellor / Mentor LOR
From: School counsellor, research mentor, or extracurricular supervisor
Best for: Undergraduate programmes, community-focused universities
Less common, but accepted at some UK and US universities as a third recommender.

Strong LOR vs weak LOR

A strong LOR has
A specific anecdote: a project, paper, or situation that illustrates a quality
A comparative statement: 'Among the 200 students I have taught, she ranks in the top 5%'
Technical or subject-specific detail that proves the recommender knows your work
A direct statement recommending the student for this type of programme
Contact information for the recommender, with a name that is verifiable
A weak LOR has
Generic praise with no examples ('a hard-working and dedicated student')
A summary of grades already visible on the transcript
Copy-pasted text across multiple recommenders
Vague language about 'potential' without evidence
A recommender who barely knew the student

How our LOR service works

1
Identify your recommenders
We help you choose the right two or three recommenders based on your programme list: academic vs. professional balance, strength of relationship.
2
Briefing document
We prepare a briefing document for each recommender: what to highlight, which anecdotes to reference, what the programme is looking for.
3
Draft the LOR
We write a draft in the recommender's voice. Specific to your profile, references real events, aligned with what the programme values.
4
Recommender review
The recommender reads the draft, adds their personal voice, and signs. This step ensures authenticity: the LOR reflects their genuine assessment.
5
Submission
Most universities accept LORs via email or application portal. We guide your recommender on the submission process.

Frequently asked questions

My professor barely remembers me. Can I still get a strong LOR?
Yes. This is the most common situation. We write a briefing document reminding the professor of your coursework, project, or thesis work. The draft references those specifics. Most professors are grateful to have a starting point rather than writing from scratch.
How many LORs do I need for UK or Canadian applications?
Two is standard for most Masters programmes. Three is common for US universities. We check the requirements for each programme on your list before drafting anything.
Can I use a manager's LOR instead of a professor's?
For MBA and professional Masters programmes, a professional LOR from a direct manager is often stronger than an academic one. For research programmes, academic LORs are preferred. We help you decide which combination works best for your target programmes.
Is it ethical for a consultant to draft the LOR?
Yes, provided the recommender reads, personalises, and signs the final version. We draft a starting point based on what the recommender would reasonably say about your work. We do not fabricate claims. The recommender is the author of record.
